Forensic autopsy including examination of all three body cavities (cranium, thorax, abdomen) is performed by board-certified forensic pathologists at the Institute of Forensic Medicine Bern. In some cases conventional autopsy procedure is supplemented according to need (neck dissection is performed in cases of strangulation, drowning dissection when relevant etc.).
